When Autism Speaks routinely dehumanizes Autistic people for personal gain, silence is NOT an option.
Speak up and be a catalyst for change. Take action and protest through social media and/or in-person at Autism Speaks walks. Together we will be heard and can make a positive change for Autistic people.
Help educate partners of Autism Speaks — they need to know they are funding a hate group that hurts the very people they claim to help.
Autistics: We are the people. It’s time to share your voice. Start with families, friends, neighbors, peers and community folks — share that this is a civil rights movement, Autism Speaks isn’t what they think, and that we need jobs, education, and housing options. We are people, not burdens and seek to make lasting contributions to society.
We need #lovenotfear, to feel safe and welcome in our communities, and we must demand any organization that represents Autistic voice to have authentic voice. It’s our civil rights and our movement — #NothingAboutUsWithoutUs. Ever.
How Can You Help?
Watch and Share the story of Autism Speaks, “Autistics Against Autism Speaks | A Civil Rights Movement,” through the eyes of actual Autistics. #AutisticVoice has a lot of power — we need to get heard and understood. Together we can make that happen.
Protest In Person
Plan to #BoycottAutismSpeaks this April at a fundraising walk.
